How to use this index
- Normative requirement refers to the success criterion itself.
- Sufficient techniques are documented ways to satisfy a criterion, not the only valid implementations.
- ARIA Authoring Practices Guide conventions describe robust widget behavior but are not WCAG requirements by themselves.
- Interoperability advice must name the assistive technology, browser, operating system, versions, and test date.
- Best practice improves usability but must not be presented as a conformance requirement.
Automated rules, browser accessibility trees, and the site’s predicted-semantics explorer can reveal useful facts, but none substitutes for keyboard, zoom, visual, real-assistive-technology, and disabled-user testing.

WCAG 2.2 removed 4.1.1 Parsing. Modern HTML defines parsing and error recovery, while user-impacting failures in relationships or programmatic name, role, and value remain covered by other criteria. The removed criterion is documented here for history and is not counted among the 55 active A/AA criteria.
